The Roland Metallic Color library has over 512 metallic combinations for endless color customization, and the new Metallic Texture Library adds 26 unique texture fills, adding value and sophistication to any graphic or marketing message. To prevent the pigments in metallic silver and white inks from settling, the VersaCAMM VS comes with Roland’s unique, patent-pending automated ink circulation system. The system automatically reduces waste of white and metallic silver ink for dramatically lower running costs. The system ensures exceptional image quality throughout the longest production runs.
Choose from Blended and Layered print modes to optimize metallic images. Blended mode prints CMYKLcLm and Metallic Silver ink together for more natural metallic colors. Layered mode prints Metallic Silver first, followed by CMYKLcLm in one pass, adding richness to metallic effects.
VersaWorks RIP software has been developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP ensures exceptional production output with unmatched ease of use and incorporates the latest Adobe CPSI 3019 engine.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system which accurately reproduces spot colors from color charts and swatch books including more than 1,000 standard colors and 512 metallic colors.
With VersaWorks, you can choose from print options including a high-speed mode for production banner printing and the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics. In addition, VersaWorks features Variable Data Printing and supports up to four Roland devices simultaneously including printers, printer/cutters and cutters. It automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so you can accurately monitor time and costs.
VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, error diffusion for outstanding print quality and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. Support for Roland cutters allows you to pair a Roland cutter with any Roland wide-format printer for print/cut applications. The PerfCut function produces precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP.
The VersaCAMM VS streamlines the production process by automatically contour cutting printed graphics. By eliminating the need to reload and reposition graphics, this integrated printer/cutter saves valuable time and effort.
For laminating graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. The Quadralign four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VS also functions as stand-alone vinyl cutter.

This patent-pending system precisely controls dot placement between passes and delivers unprecedented imaging performance in all resolutions. The technology actually enhances image quality at higher print speeds thereby increasing productivity. As a result, the VS produces smooth gradations and flawless solid colors while achieving faster throughput with virtually no banding in all print modes.
The VS series incorporates the latest in variable droplet inkjet printing technology. The new 8-channel Piezo inkjet print head contains 180 nozzles per channel in a gold-plated housing to cut down on static electricity build up which can clog print nozzles. Nozzles are perfectly round for precision-formed droplets. With seven different droplet sizes available, the VS can achieve remarkably smooth gradations and richer density for photographic and high-resolution vector output. A new head protection plate and recessed print head prevent head strikes from rippling media.
The VersaCAMM VS achieves print speeds of up to 248.6 sqft./hr. for CMYK applications (VS-640). Its unique design as a combination printer/cutter further expedites the production cycle, allowing you to print and contour cut your designs together – even unattended – in one easy step.
A true production printer, the VS features an advanced media handling system allowing users to feed rolls up to 88 lbs for the VS-640, 66 for the 540 and 55 for the 420. Upgraded media flanges and seven pinch rollers secure the heaviest media in place for accurate feeding and tracking through long production runs. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate variable media thicknesses.
Roland printers are designed to dry prints quickly even in high-speed modes for immediate finishing, installation or collection by the take-up system. The VS features a built-in 2-stage integrated heater system to accommodate a wide range of media options. This advanced system precisely controls the proper amount of heat for each application, yielding outstanding results every time. For maximum convenience, users can store individual settings right in the printer.

Roland OnSupport online production monitor enables remote tracking of production so you can get a text or email when ink is low or a job is finished. Roland OnSupport users can also quickly download firmware updates and important product information.
A new, patent-pending wiper system is designed to decrease wear and tear on the print head and prolong its life by reducing ink buildup. The VS includes a combination of standard wipers and additional side wipers which reduce the maintenance issues caused by ink reservoirs and dust. As a result, fewer manual cleanings are required.
